This trekking starts with a flight to Lukla from Kathmandu and involves trekking upto Kalapathar (Everest Base Camp) on the famous trails. This trekking course is most representative of the Nepal Himalayas. Having done the sightseeing tour of the major Hindu and Buddhist sites in Kathmandu valley in the first day, you can fly to Lukla the following day. This follows the main route through the Khumbu Region from the Sherpa town of Namche Bazaar, allowing the trekker to view close at hand some of the world’s highest and most famous peaks from Everest on down. The course is varied- you encounter lamas and see monasteries, stupas and mani stones(prayrer walls). There are overnight camping facilities in major villages and Kharkas, and those trekkers who plan to stay at hotels need not worry about food or lodging.
