This Trekking for 20 to 30 days along Buri Gandaki and Marsyangdi river valleys to one of the highest areas still open to tourist trsffic. This is an enchanting course which visits the three peaks of Manaslu, known as “ the Japanese peaks.” It is a well-loved trek from Trisuli Bazar to the Burhi Gandaki. It is Newly opened in 1992 to trekking by the Government this area unspoilt and a virtual paradise.
During the trek Sherpa accompaniment is adviseable as are camping equipment and food supplies.This fascinating trek is constantly rewarding, be it the biological diversity or the unsurpassed beauty of Ganesh and Manaslu (at 8118m is ranked the 8th highest in the world) or the insight into the local cultures that you are after. Here you will find a cross-section of ethnic Nepalese tribes, the people of Gurung, Magar, Tamang and Bhotes (Tibetan) whose way of life has remained unchanged for decades (even centuries).
In Samagoan (3450m) we visit the glacial green lake of Birendra before crossing into mystic Samdo, a mere 15km from the Tibetan border. Here Tibetan monks inhabit scared monasteries and combining the views of the Tibetan plateau against stark white Himalayas makes this a truly spiritual place. Continuing, more monasteries await in Larkya La, a 5213m snow-covered pass which demands the utmost respect. Snow-covered peaks over 6500m tower above as we cross and the descent, once off the snow lakes, takes us through alpine then tropical areas, busting with ferns, bamboo, pine trees, waterfalls and aqua-blue green lakes laced with cotton-white beaches. Finally, Manaslu will disappear as we descend to Besisahar (832m). This three-week excursion will leave you with a sense of peace and respect for the people of Nepal and its ecological wonders.
From Arughat Bazar it becomes difficult to obtain food, so calculation of the number and plan accordingly is imperative for its successful accomplishment.Because it is long course, you must be in good health and have extra days for rest during the trek.
